TRIMMING: Before forming, wash the dental guard in warm water and try it on. If the dental guard is too big or feels uncomfortable, use scissors to trim away extra length or wall height.
CUSTOM FITTING:
READ ALL DIRECTIONS BEFORE BEGINNING.
Heat a bowl of water to a boil. Make sure there is enough water to fully submerge the dental guard.
Remove the water from the heat source for 10 seconds and place the dental guard into the water for 20 seconds.
Use a slotted spoon or fork to remove the dental guard from the water and let cool for 5 seconds.
Place the dental guard on your upper teeth, and bite down. DO NOT BITE DOWN TOO HARD. Biting down too hard may result in holes forming in the bottom of the dental guard.
Close your lips together and suck out all the air and water until the dental guard forms to a tight fit around your teeth.
Use your tongue to provide firm pressure to the inside walls, while using your fingers to press your lips and cheeks to the outside walls of the dental guard. Hold for 10 seconds.
Remove the dental guard and rinse in cold water for 10 seconds. The dental guard should fit snugly when placed back on your teeth.
If the dental guard is too loose, simply repeat the custom fitting process one more time, and use more pressure during forming.
IMPORTANT: Inspect the dental guard after each night’s use for signs of wear. If there are any holes through the bite surface or evidence of significant damage, please dispose of the dental guard and custom fit a new one. Otherwise, rinse the dental guard in warm water and place in storage case for next use.
